3dworks
oldie but goldie, has been reported and i re-report it here: when switching tool options from single to copy while using the 'move' tool, the 'perpendicular to reference plane' constraint is not kept while drawing. not a show stopper, but annoying, as you have always to switch back and forth the 'perpendicular' setting to get the constraint back working. please fix it finally ;-)
Tech
Hi Markus, We are not aware of this issue, and we are not reproducing it either. If you temporarily reset your keyboard shortcuts to default, draw a cube, move it perpendicular, and tap the option key to toggle perpendicular, do you reproduce this? If that is working for you but something else is not, can you please give more specifics?
ZTEK
ZTech, This problem is related to the snaps and guides. If you switch, on and off, via a shortcut to the copy mode placing the cursor in blank space, without snapping to any point or segment, the perpendicular constraint is kept, but if you switch to the copy mode with the cursor over a snap or a guide, it fails. Apparently the snaps and guides have prevalence over the perpendicular constraint. Tech
Hi Marcelo, Oh, ok, if you are Snapping to other geometry When you Toggle the Copy Mode. Thanks for the relevant details, we will get this corrected.
3dworks
and btw. the same issue applies when using mutiple copy with snapping. after the first copy the perpendicular mode is deactivated. already reported a while ago and still there... Tech
Right -- any copy mode will do it -- but the key was to be snapping to something else when toggling the copy mode (while also using perpendicular). That was the key to be able to reproduce (and thus report) the issue...
3dworks
probably this never got reproduced because you where never testing with snapping modes on. in my day by day work the snapping is almost 95% of the time set to on... good to see this getting fixed, finally! :-)
Tech
Hi Markus, Not only does snapping need to be on -- but as Marcelo notes, the cursor needs to be Actively Snapping to Geometry for it to occur...
3dworks
tricky! ;-)
AsOne
While you are fixing that bug could you fix the "distance box is no longer highlighted when panning or snapping a guideline" bug that has persisted since v7 beta?
