jram
Hello, just a quick question. I'm trying to make a vase shape/form and I'm using N loft over a few t splined shapes, it seems to be working well but what is the best way to cap one of the ends. I'm wanting to cap it with a 1mm thick surface as I will be printing it out on a 3d printer. I will control wall thickness thru perimeter settings in my slicer software. Is there a tutorial someone could point me to for this? I'm sure there are many ways to do this but I am still learning and can't seem to figure this out. Thanks
DennisA
Not exactly sure what form you ended with. But check out the cap tool (in Derive 3) and then you can thicken it (in Derive 2) If you Control click tool it will open to manual page of how to use. Thanks Hi I am not sure what kind of vase you need but if it is symmetrical one I`d rather use Revolve tool. You easily can draw required shape either open or closed and than revolve it around axe of revolution. The only limitation is: your shape can`t cross axe hence there will be tiny hole which can later be eliminated by filling it with solid and boolean union.
