Ben,

Could you please take a look at these two objects? Something about them won't let Maxwell render. Tried sending it to Maxwell and to Studio to no avail. Odd indeed!

Hi Allan,

Yes, there is something wrong with this geometry. (Created originally in sketchup? No?)

Export them as a DXF (do NOT turn facetted objects into ACIS), then reimport to formZ, and they will render properly.

Thanks Ben.

Are there plans to anticipate geometry like this from sketchup and have the appropriate plugin/program correct the rendering error? I say rendering error, since the object doctor didn't find anything wrong with the object (even using 'add to selection'). If not, shouldn't the object doctor state the geometry problem?

The objects also do not render properly in Renderzone.

You can also use the formZ's 'Map Texture' tool on the objects to fix the problem. The problem has to do with incorrect texture UVs on the imported objects.

Please post the original sketchup file, and we will see what we (of ADS) can do to improve this.

I no longer have the original sketchup object. When I find another like it, I will send it.
