allanjl
Just messing around with lights, materials, backgrounds and general rendering settings. Took about an hour on my 2011 mac book pro. 8 gigs of RAM.
allanjl
I haven't been able to find instancing within formz for vray. I'd love to high poly tree instancing like maxwell uses. Just boxes I can put all over and they load only during render time.
Tech
allan, There are two ways to do this with V-Ray for formZ: 1. Use proxy objects. Proxy objects are V-Ray ,vrmesh files which contain a geometry mesh and material to be rendered. You can create a Proxy with the Create proxy tool or use vrmesh files that are available in the wild. 2. Import vrscene files. Imported vrscene files are a more complete representation as they can contain any type of V-Ray data (infinite plane and lights for example). vrscene files can be created with the export scene file tool, or you can use vrscene files that are created with any other V-Ray product (maya, 3ds max etc). Both Proxy (vrmesh) and the newer vrscene's can be placed with a bounding box or a detailed preview. Hope this helps!
