version 6 had a move mesh tool useful for simple manipulations of meshed faces

I need to place convex and concave circular bumps and depressions (smooth dimples) on a flat mesh

What is the best method now ?

PS we need a tool similar to sketchup sandbox for this

Hi Pipo,

If you convert the mesh to a nurbs surface, then rebuild the surface to designate the number of control points, then you can manipulate the points to place the bumps on the surface.

If you need this to be a mesh, use the Polygon Mesh tool on the smooth surface after you have achieved your desired shape.

Does that help?

Just last week I had to move a mesh terrain  to quickly adjust it for a building retaining wall.  This is why I still keep a version 6.7 around for the old tools and scripts that disappeared in the new versions.
