Imagix
It should be simple enough, i guess, but fz just hangs forever. I have got a feeling I have too little ram or something. If anyone can help with this, I'd be grateful. The texturing has to remain correct after the cutting. Drop me a line at apa@imagix.dk if you can help me out. Thanks Anders
Takeharu_Yabe
maybe it should be better to use split by vectorline.
Imagix
Just a line? Using which tool?
Takeharu_Yabe
It is Trim / Split tool with vectorline.
Imagix
I am using the Trip / split tool, but the mesh has height, so I need to use a an extruded line for the split. This is what I'd normally do my fz just stalls. I have left it for 30 min. with no results.

jsiggia
The current version can use a 2D line to split a 3D object. I never attempted it on an object like this however. Joe
Imagix
In case anyone is interested, I finally managed to split that mesh by selecting a thin section of faces across the mesh and then using the unstitch tool. I did this several time and ended up with some more manageable chunks of meshes.
Tech
Hi Anders, Glad you found a workaround. We have been looking into this issue and it appears there are some inefficiencies in regards to cutting/splitting large mesh objects. We are looking to see where this can be improved in the future. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
