redrngr
Working on a Building. I select one of the Faces of Building Exterior near a new Curtain Wall Window opening and the Define Reference Plane Dialog is not showing any + signs to Save the View? This is when I click on the Face of the Building? Does anyone have experienced this? Nothing is showing up in the Define Reference Plane Dialog? Thanks! Dan S. ¢hris £und
I have no problems creating or saving a custom reference plane. Actually, when I use the tool to select a face to create a plane, the plane is auto saved in the "Custom reference Plane" dialog. ¢£
¢hris £und
I do see what I think is a bug, however. Tech, if I preselect a face, then try to use the "Define Reference Plane" tool, the reference plane created, has nothing to do with the pre-picked plane, regardless if I click on that plane or off. Nor if I click off, does it apply to a plane that I am clicking on. Seems arbitrary. Cheers!
setz
Chris, that may be related to the issue of the Define Reference Plane Tool not functioning accurately while in Wireframe view mode.
¢hris £und
In my case, it is in in shaded and shaded work display modes.
Tech
The Define Reference Plane Tool does not use a pre-selected face (or any pre-selected entities). This tool currently only works in a "post-pick" mode and continues to expect something to be selected until enough entities have been selected to define a plane (i.e. 3 points, 1 planar face etc). When used in wireframe the default picking for faces is "two edges" so you need to pick two edges of a face to define a plane from a face in wireframe. Thanks for your feedback and we will try and improve this in a future version to include pre-picked faces.
¢hris £und
Even without a pre-pick option, would it not be expected to align with the face that is clicked on? now, it is just confused. While your at it, could you add the pick "Inside Boundaries" option back? from 6.x Cheers! ¢£
