Guest seasdes
Is there a way to undo old Unions in V8.5?
Andrew West
There is no Un-Union tool. However, if you have a ghost operands turned on in your preferences then you have a ghosted copy of the original parts that you can bring back. If you don't see them then make sure you have show ghosted turned on in your display palette. Other than that I can think of a couple ways of getting the geometry back to its previous state but I would need to see what you are working with first. Guest seasdes
Thanks I had ghost operands turned off. Is there any other ways?
Tech
Hi Seasdes, Yes, the Ghosted objects are intended to be used if you want revert back prior to a Boolean. In some cases you can cut or fill to regenerate the original objects, but in other cases it may be easier to rebuild them... Does that help? Bo Atkinson
Aside from other things, for important work, adopting a habit to manually save projects, just prior to complex commands, as Booleans can be very complex, is to save project with names to indicate the intended, critical action... Like "boolStairs.fmz" or what not... After all the memory might overload, or the utility power might brown out or other glitches might happen... I prefer this to other generous options provided by softwares. Later on, review saved files and delete extras, as best fits your later needs.
