Keyboard shortcut dialog

Suggest a search box to find commands in the Keyboard shortcut dialog.

Was looking for a shortcut to switch from 3D input to Plane input. Also a shortcut to activate the X-axis input edit box on the Input Palette and did not find it.

Are there shortcuts for these? If not I'd suggest they be added. I find shortcuts much more productive than clicking in boxes.

Also, there are some key shortcuts available for accessing options in the Tool Options palette. I'd like to see more

shortcuts available perhaps even customizable ones.

Paul,

All shortcuts are customizable right there in the dialog box. For input you can tab through XY&Z input boxes.

You can sort the shortcuts via the column headers, this will help find things in list view.

We had an option to print the list view but that has been removed, maybe we'll see it again someday (hint, hint).

Hope this helps,

Joe

Hi PaulJ,

Yes, it would be useful to add a search function, thanks for your suggestion.  For now there are lots of ways to set or find key shortcuts.  First, if you go to the Edit Menu: Key Shortcuts command, you can click List -- and then Export to export a CSV file from there:

Of course if there are very easy ways to set key shortcuts for tools or menu items (like just right clicking on any tool and choosing Key Shortcut to set one).  Please see these tips and tricks for more details:

Does that help?  ;)

The Keyboard List is great especially when you click on the "Category" tab that arranges the list alphabetically.  I find the "Input" command in Palettes Category.  I'm guessing this highlights the X-axis making it ready to input distance.

Drats, My input palette just disappeared.  Don't know where it went.   How does one get it back?

Anyway, what I don't find is direct access to the three fields of 3D, 3D Plane (after a first point is selected), Plane, and Plane Delta (after a first point selected).

My input palette has disappeared. When I click on Palettes > Input the palette does not appear.

I've had a problem earlier where I dragged the Input palette upward and it locked into the Tool Palette and I could not move the Input palette out of the Tool Palette.  Any suggestions?

As far as using F4, what I would like is to be able to assign my middle mouse button instead of F4. That would make it faster to reset the relative zero. I could click a relative "from" point without using my other hand and look for and click the F4 key.

Also what I'd like to do is use a shortcut key to change from the 3D field to the Plane field quickly. I don't presently see how to accomplish that.
