Related to Axis Lock. Clipping planes, dimensions.

I was going to add to the Axis lock thread, but the additional requests and observations here warrant a new thread:

Today I want to put dimensions into my model while I am in an orthogonal view and have a clipping plane active. Because there is no axis lock, I have to move my model so that the clipping plane is in front of the default working plane which is at 0. This is not always practical which may mean on occasion that I would have to copy out what I want to dimension into a new file.

Please, AD would you give us axis lock ASAP and especially for working with dimensions and it would be nice also if dimensions could be optionally excepted from being clipped but still appears, or even better, if a layer could be excepted from being clipped, then we could achieve this by dimensioning on an unclipped layer with further control. Sorry this adds a further dimension to the original request. :)

I thought that by dimensioning on a layer which has the 'exclude from clipping planes' option checked, I could get round this, but that's not the way it works, it would need:

'Layer visible but not affected by clipping planes'.

I request this feature please as another option for layers, as well as option to axis lock in general, including to axis lock dimensions even when snapping to objects on another plane.
