Andrew West Posted October 13, 2016 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Everyone models differently so this is another option: Take a simple curved line that represents a section of the bowl. Revolve it around a central axis to form the bowl. Take a 2 D flower shape and place it directly over the bowl. Use the imprint to to project the flower onto the bowl. select the flower pattern in the bowl and extrude it with perpendicular to surface selected. Delete the part of the bowl you don't want. Done. Tech Posted October 13, 2016 Share Posted October 13, 2016 Hi Matt, Generally speaking, you should avoid using the Deformations to generate your shape, as the alternatives will typically be quicker and easier. To make this shape, extrude your outline, and revolve a curve as shown: Then Thicken the revolve, and do a Boolean Intersection to get your shape. Does that help? The only issue with techs process is that the edge of the bowl is now perpendicular to the xy plane rather than perpendicular to the curve of the bowl.
