Tech
Hi Hugo, Yes, unfortunately this is an undesired side effect of one of the fixes. Thanks for your report, we will get this corrected ASAP. If you would like to revert to the previous version (without this issue) you can download the 8.5.4 version from here: www.formz.com/update
Hugo
Yes, I would like to install the previous version on my main computer. But I am not allowed to install after download from here:www.formz.com/update. Apple Sierra won't let me do that, and I don't know where to find that option anymore. Any solution? Tech
Hi Hugo, Ah, you have upgraded to Apple's Brand New Sierra operating system. Please see this posting for more info on this: http://forums.formz.com/index.php?/topic/4181-form•z-and-macos-1012-sierra-please-read/
Hugo
I did as you suggested, but then I got the same 8.5.5 version to install. I need version 8.5.4 and this can't be done as I told in previous post.
Tech
Hi Hugo, If you want to use the older version of formZ, you may need to use the previous version of OS X. Version 8.5.4 is here (not 8.5.5): ftp://ftp.formz.com/pub/formz/formz/fz8/app_only/ However, we can't guarantee it will work since it OS X Sierra was not available when that version was released. Hugo
It is not working to download AND install 8.5.4, Sierra doesn't allow. But... I used TimeMachine to go back before version 8.5.5 and that worked for me. So now I am using 8.5.4 again.
Des
I mentioned this soon after it was released in the "form•Z 8.5.5 Update Released!" post at the top. I decided not to reinstall the previous version because a simple workaround is to use the grid snap. Set it to what ever multiple you want and it snaps to that. It also snaps to other objects fine. R2D2
On that topic it would be great if you could also fix extrusion when executed in top view: No matter what value is typed in I (i.e. 3m) it always ends up being 0,01m ...
Hugo
8.5.6 version solved and R2D2 issue is solved too. thank you Tech.
Tech
Hi Hugo et al, Yes, these issues should now be solved with the 8.5.6 update. R2D2
Draw a plane and then extrude it from top view (i.e. type in 10m) its still 0,01m ...just me ?
Tech
Hi R2, This should be fixed. Does your version show 8.5.6? And either way, if you update from here: www.formz.com/update ...does that fix it for you?

Tech
R2, Yes, we tested it here. Did you get a clean install yet?
R2D2
Strange. I did the "copy new FormZ Folder into FZs directory, delete previous one and deleted prefs folder" method... (FormZ Pro Folder in /Applications/FormZ 8)
Tech
Ok, we have found a computer on which we can reproduce this. If you Extrude from a 3d view, or if you Reshape from a Top (or other) view, then this should work properly for you. Does that help? Thanks for your report, we will get this corrected. R2D2
Maybe related to the "top view" issue, I cant "frame-select" faces in shaded mode from top view. (It only works in wireframe, or when I rotate the view to see the face) Its a bit annoying when you know the face is just there - (I.e. end of a steel profile or similar you want to extend/move) I am not sure if it is "expected behaviour"... Tech
Hi R2, Yes, in general the paradigm is that if you can see the part, you should be able to select it, and with Shaded Views, you can't see the side or back faces so they are expected to not be selected. Switching to Wire Frame is the "normal" solution to getting what you want in this case.
