The Q
When I render this twisted shape at low res, it works out fine. When I render at hi-res (600 dpi) I get this rectangle square in the foreground. I wonder if this a hither yon issue, although I need to keep the same perspective. The fmz file is too big to upload. Thank you for your help.

Tech
Hi Q, Thanks for sending your file. When we check it with the Object Doctor: We can see that it has a number of zero area, and intersecting faces -- which are affecting the rendering at the higher resolution rendering. It would be best to rebuild the shape without these defects (especially if you needed to 3d print it), but you can also work around this by setting the Project Rendering Options for Smooth objects to render using the Facetted Object Settings: Then when you render you will see some little "triangular artifacts" which are the result of non-planar faces -- and checking the Decompose Nonplanar Faces option from the Geometry tab of the RenderZone options will fix that. Does this help?
