R2D2
I know it has been asked before, but is this still on the shortlist ? It used to be an easy fix sometimes... Or in V8 whats the best way to fix this wall from a 3dm file, without deriving faces and stitching procedure ? Thx wall_test.fmz.zip
Andrew West
Convert it from smooth to faceted and it corrects the geometry. If you find this to be true of all your 3dm files then change your import settings to only create faceted geometry.
R2D2
Thanx Andrew, yes, of course (but I forgot to mention) what I am after is a clean appearance in full shaded mode, including the outlines, so I am trying to avoid the additional faces. We have now found that exporting a DWG from rhino works somewhat better for keeping smooth objets on import into FZ. (The former issue appearing when opening the 3dm file directly) But still: one / two sided tool is gone ?
Andrew West
As far as I can tell it is gone.
Tech
Hi R2D2, There should not be any need to make a surface 2 sided (and if you really need to separate colors or images, you could slightly extrude, or mirror a copy). When Imported, such geometry should be fixed automatically. If you are still able to reproduce this, can you send us the file you Imported that produced the bad geometry so we can take a look?
