Martin Malinski
Has native file export for Artlantis been been dropped in v8? I can still export to v3 from fz v7.3.4, but nothing in fz v8?
jonmoore
I'm guessing that the plugin is provided by Artlantis and was never updated for Artlantis 5. I'm personally not a huge fan of Artlantis renders but a good many of my clients use it as their main renderer because of it's ease of use and speed (and it's up to date plugins for Archicad, Vectorworks & Sketchup). The one area that I still think Artlantis really excels is in it's ability to create highly stylised elevation renders to really help raise the quality of presentation documentation. Real pity that the plugin is so out of date in FormZ.
Tech
Hi Martin, Artlantis has typically been a very low demand plugin, and every time Artlantis updates their version, the completely redo their SDK which requires a lot of effort on our part to continue supporting this. Due to the low demand, we have prioritized other issues instead that are more widely useful to our users. If we do get a lot of demand for this, we can consider re-evaluating our priorities. Are there lots of users that would find this useful? Of course, if you have formZ v7 and 8, you can Save A Copy As from v8 back to v7, and export from there if necessary... The export from FormZ v7 doesn't always play nicely with Artlantis 5 (completely different internal system to Artlantis 4/3).
Tech
Hi Jon, Yes, that is a big problem with Artlantis -- that their newer versions seem to never support their older formats...
